Al Tiramisu
our comments
Chef Luigi Diotaiuti exudes personality and charm, as well he might. He presides over an immensely hip restaurant that serves stylized Italian food. Start off with the grilled portobello mushrooms with goat cheese, and, at dinner, skip right on to the duck breast, rare tuna or beef tenderloin. You’ll find inspired pasta dishes, and some of the pasta is made fresh on the premises. Although the kitchen offers other choices, such as gelato and crème caramel, the obvious dessert here is tiramisu. It’s a cozy and neighborly restaurant with a mock fireplace, wine racks built into the walls and sun-bright colors. If you celebrity watch, you might catch sight of such locally based stars as Placido Domingo.- April 2005
