our comments

The recipient of its fair share of media hype, this waterfront destination is a spruced-up and rather elegant take on the usual Thai theme, with decorative touches that celebrate this restaurant’s signature dish: the dumpling, or rather, numerous kinds of dumplings. Management has even installed a dumpling bar---as opposed to, say, a sushi bar---and the restaurant’s logo further carries the message: "life without dumplings is not worth living." Not surprisingly, because of its chic waterfront setting, Bangkok Joe’s attracts a well-heeled crowd, both young and old, who tuck into its numerous specialty noodle and rice bowls, or even one of its soups, salads or entrée items. Of course, no meal here would be complete without some dumplings, and we fully enjoyed the panang chicken bun, but were less enthusiastic about the smoked duck wonton, which had too little duck, too much fried wrapper. Desserts are inventive twists on the Thai theme, and include such options as fried roti dough stuffed with taro paste, and a ginger bread pudding.

I truly enjoyed the experience. The service was good, attentive but not intrusive. It arrived promptly and wa worth the wait. Couldn't get enough of the lemon ginger iced tea nor its shrimp dumplings. Though not exactly "bargain" still really good value for your money
