This sophisticated seafood restaurant just south of Old Town Alexandria has some nice touches. There is a terrace for summer dining, and an attractive raw bar has a rotating selection of a dozen or so kinds of oysters. We like the clean good looks and ambience of the place established by wide swathes of glass and sparkling white tablecloths---even when it starts to get loud as the evening wears on. The best dishes are the simplest, when the excellent ingredients are allowed to speak for themselves---grilled swordfish served with garlic mashed potatoes, pepper-crusted tuna with white beans, cedar-planked salmon cooked in the wood-fired oven. For dessert, zero in on the gooey fudge cake.
