My husband and I dined here for his 35th birthday and will happily be repeat customers in the future. The food was the best Japanese dining experience we had ever had. We ordered the 8 course menu ($75 per person). The martinated clam dish (served in a shell) and Kobe beef were among our favorites, but the calamari cake and the mussels in a hot sake broth with scallions were not to be denied either. Our server was superb and very knowledgeable about the food. The sushi was of such quality that there was no need for either soy or wasabi. This is not the place I would recommend for a sushi exclusive diner alone, but if you are inclined to more Japanese fusion dishes as well this is exactly what I would recommend. However the lobster with wasabi mayo was a stunning sushi a delightful item from their signature sushi menu as well as the Seared Salmon Belly w/lemon-soy. The decor was lovely and I only mark the atmosphere down for two reasons. One that the lighting was a little bright with the white walls and two that it had all the noise and hustle of DC where we had been expecting a more refined dining atmosphere. These were easy to get over though with the enticing menu. We had a wonderful three hour dining experience and the staff was nothing but charming and attentive.
