our comments

One of DC’s oldest Spanish restaurants and a cousin of the now-defunct Andalucía in Bethesda, this colorful place exudes atmosphere and offers some pretty good Spanish cooking. Family-run and family-centered, this Andalucía features Mom in the kitchen cooking southern Spanish dishes and siblings out front helping with seating or taking care of accounts. We found the Spanish ambience---with flamenco posters, white stucco walls, and background Spanish music---a good fit for our dinner of garlic chicken, a piece of fish poached in green sauce, and a very rich orange bread pudding for dessert. Probably better bets would be the paella, a pitcher of iced sangría, and a bowl of sopa de ajo on one of the nights when the restaurant offers live flamenco music. Love tapas? The restaurant has added a selection to its menu.
