We have been to Bistro D'Oc for weekend lunches on three occasions in 2007 and 2008, and have found the service good, the food very good to excellent and the atmosphere appealing. On one occasion we tried two appetizers and a dessert with accompanying wine and expresso. Each course was excellent, and the value on a 1-10 scale was a 9.
Having read some of the other reviewers who have complained about this restaurant in the evening, we plan to return for an evening meal to see if a problem exists at that time.

The manager the day i went was rude and very unaccomodating. My girlfriend and i went strictly for it's theatre menu which was advertised as 5-7 pm. we arrived at 6:50 and they said we couldn't order because it was too late. we were shocked that the manager of a small restaurant wouldn't allow us to order from a "set-time menu." i told him we were first time visitors and that we were celebrating an anniversary. He was unapologetic and said he couldn't.
We immediately left without ordering. Ever hear of customer service?

After such a lovely meal with great food and wine for my friend's 21st birthday with a group of 16, it is really a shame that the management and serving staff could have ruined this place so horribly. The waitress was rude and had an attitude problem, consistently treating us like it was an honor for her to be serving us. She brought out the wrong dish on several occasions and accused us of changing our minds. The manager was horrible - when there was a disagreement over the method of payment (he refused to take more than 5 credit cards for the whole table), he proceeded to verbally abuse the entire party. After paying him $10 to get him to agree to using more cards, he then charged me tax and tip on that bribe. Absurd! Awful management!

Service was horrendous. Food was average. You could do better elsewhere in DC.
