I doubt I will ever find a restaurant to rate this highly again. My husband and I have been fine dining for years and have only found this much delight and satisfaction in a restaurant one other time. It is not just the food here, though I may never eat red meat again unless it is prepared within those walls, it is not just the ambience of the black walls with their gold fixtures and framing, it isn't just the sweetly smooth texture of the piano and bass player keeping the rhythm of your evening. They welcomed us without needing to ask our names, our table was ready and waiting, roses on the place setting that had been arranged without any hassle for my husband’s birthday. They took care of everything to ensure a perfect evening. Our waiter had been there for 15 years and was nothing that was not courteous and wonderful to spend three hours of our evening with. The air in the restaurant was refined without pretension and quiet enough to have a conversation at your table even with the music playing. The prime rib was nothing less than divine and the classic mashed potatoes put all others before them to shame. The portion size was fantastic and they were quick to divide portions in the kitchen for those who shared. My husband and I split the house salad (stunning) and they brought it out in two servings for us, as well as dividing our entrees in the kitchen so we each had half of the others' on our plate. After years of passing the plates back and forth it was a simple nicety that did not go unnoticed. For each of us having an appetizer (the potato skins are almost required the first time you go) an entree and a side dish with a corking fee on two bottles of wine, we waltzed out for $200 dollars to a taxi they had secured while we were signing off on the bill.

But here is what sets this restaurant apart from everywhere else that we have ever been. We had forgotten our wine case there and the next morning when we went to check out of our hotel it was at the desk waiting for us, with a menu rolled inside and other little things from our evening such as mints, business cards, etc. Saying as we did not tell them where we were staying we were highly impressed (and a little touched) to see our wine case come back to us in such good order. I cannot wait until we go back to them again.
