our comments

Dining out at this Thai-owned, family-run restaurant in Alexandria, we hoped we’d come away feeling pampered by special service and thoughtfully prepared food. But we walked away instead feeling deprived, for this is just another of the many pan-Asian eateries that try to squeeze too many dishes, too many flavors, and too many cuisines onto one small menu. What suffers, of course, is the quality of the finished dish. How can you expect one cook to master Malaysian roti canai, Japanese yakisoba noodles, Vietnamese pho, Indonesian gado-gado, Chinese wonton soup, Singaporean-style noodles, and Thai pad thai? It doesn’t work, and among the various dishes we sampled, we couldn’t pick out one that captured authentic flavors and textures, or even won our hearts. Unmemorable, and not worth a repeat visit.
