our comments

This lively tapas restaurant is around the corner from the Shakespeare Theater and a block from the MCI Center. No surprise that it’s always busy, but tables turn over quickly, so the wait usually isn’t as long as it looks. Besides, the fun doesn’t really start until later in the evening, when the place is full of jaleo (Spanish slang for commotion). There are lots of entrées, but ordering a table full of small plates and washing them down with a bottle of sherry or a pitcher of sangría is what’s fun about this place. The selection changes seasonally but usually includes sausage with white beans, grilled portobello mushrooms, Spanish cold cuts and poached octopus in olive oil.

Jaleo is the absolute best! We get to Washington 1 - 2 times a year and eat there every time. Best Tapas this side of the Atlantic
