One of the most popular Indian restaurants in DC, this modest little spot has the same limited menu as most local Indian restaurants, but the cooking is consistently good. The Indian feast is a real bargain, but if your appetite is smaller, you may order à la carte and still enjoy the moist tandoori chicken, the complexly spiced curries, the beautifully cooked pilafs and the superb breads. We like the vinegar-zested lamb vindaloo, too. Its sister restaurant---Aarathi in Vienna, VA---enjoys almost the same popularity.- April 2005
