Whether you dine in this original comfortable little dining room near Dupont Circle or under the tented ceiling of the two-tiered pavilion at the Bethesda branch, you’re in for the best Lebanese cuisine in town. The menu is long, and it’s best to come with a group and share. Start with baba ghanouj or hummus, or make an entire meal of mezze, a selection of Middle Eastern appetizers that might include stuffed grape leaves, pickled turnips, stuffed baby eggplant with pomegranate sauce, and miniature fried meat turnovers. Main course recommendations include kebabs, stuffed cabbage with pomegranate sauce or pilafs topped with slices of lamb or chicken. Also located at 7945 Norfolk Ave., Bethesda, MD, 301-657-1722.- April 2005
