Bangkok Golden
our comments
Under different ownership and with a name change from Thong Thai, this suburban Thai eatery, we were told, offers an assortment of true Thai fare. Yes, the menu does tackle such unusual dishes as sun-dried beef, the seafood soup called poh taek, and crispy pork with Chinese broccoli. But we were disappointed, finding here the same kind of pandering to Western tastes as at most local Thai restaurants. What did pass muster was the crispy pork with Chinese broccoli, the shrimp cakes appetizer, and the drunken noodles. It’s possible we hit an off night, but with so many other Thai destinations around, we won’t soon head back here.- April 2005
