Bistro Med
our comments
No predicting the crowds here: You may eat in solitary splendor at lunch or find it crowded during typical off-hours. It’s possible that Bistro Med is still finding its footing in the DC market, offering as it does yet another take on the Turkish-Greek-Mediterranean foods that have hit the metro area with such force over the past few years. Consider starting with the favorite, Imam Bayildi, a roasted eggplant dish that could use some flavor boosting here, and continue on to one of the numerous kebabs of lamb, beef, chicken or combinations thereof. Because the prices are reasonable, you can eat generously, even greedily, especially if you want to combine sandwiches, salads and Turkish-style pizzas at one sitting. Service may be slow.- April 2005
