This tiny spot has authentic Chinese cuisine. The restaurant serves generous portions, and has expanded its repertoire to include both sushi and several Thai noodle and curry dishes. It serves all the basics such as Szechuan beef and shredded pork with string beans. It also has more unusual dishes such as orange tofu and spicy Thai eggplant with basil. However, Chen's is almost a strictly carry-out operation because of the limited seating.- April 2005

Definitely one of the best Chinese American carryouts in DC. The Sesame Chicken is great. Chen's is always served as carryout, but has limited seating outside.
Keep in mind that this is Chinese American food (General Tso's, Sesame Chicken, etc.) or what most people call "Chinese food." So, you're not going to find the strong gamely flavors of "authentic Chinese food" which you're more likely to find in Chinatown.

Chens is one of the bests places I have ever eaten at. I am a very picky eater, and for me to like something is very unusual. The staff is very friendly, and the food is too amazing for words. I suggest you try it.

Since moved into Palisades neighbourhood, I have ordered a few times from this establishment. Every time, it's a big dissapointment. Of course, as a Chinese, I may be more demanding in terms of Chinese food flavor , and this restaurant has no Chinese clientle in the area. Honestly, I feel this restaurant has some friendly staff, but worst Chinese cooking. It's unlikely they use a real chef in the kitchen. The sauce/taste for all the dishes I've tried are not even close!
