1789 Restaurant
our comments
This elegant Georgetown restaurant sits in a Federal-style townhouse with blazing fireplaces and historical prints. It is also Washington D.C.'s favorite restaurant for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Executive chef Ris Lacoste changes with the seasons. However, sample menu options include Champagne oyster stew appetizer, topped with a cream sauce with oysters and walnuts; and rack of lamb with feta potatoes or glazed roast pork chop with sweet potato bread pudding and bourbon-laced applesauce. The wine list is distinguished and highly varied.- April 2005
